Petty Little Lies

I am thinking and it's just a thought
Don't roll your eyes and say 'Now what?'

What if there was a punishment for every little lie
Every fake orgasm, every unreal sigh

What if for every 'Awww'  when you didn't find it cute
And for 'LoL' s, you were given the boot

Every time you said '5 minutes' and took forever more
You'd be flogged all the way to the corridor

Every 'I'll ring you back'  or 'I meant to call you'
You'd scar your tongue with bitterguard stew

Missed 'I'll do that' have consequences more severe
All your prized possessions steered away to auctioneer

You'd probably be pardoned for 'You look nice'
Sometimes it's the only way to break the ice

Even a simple 'Sorry'  for when you don't mean it
Wash your mouth with soap, that ought to clean it

The most unforgiving lies of all, are the ones that aren't spoken
You miss saying a few things, and get a heart broken

Time passes you by, and you skip what you meant to do
And wake up in a time, when the person's no longer with you...
