Bowties & Bourbon

Yes, I gave in. I listened to a complete stranger. In my defense, well, there's no defense. She was hot, but that's not the point. She was alone too, so maybe it was a little less threatening. However, I did step way beyond my comfort zone on her little nudge. I wasn't even in my familiar territory to begin with. Maybe it was the aura of the place or the teasing of my senses by the various smells or the attractive packaging, I was sucked in to Bath & Body Works for the very first time.

As I looked around to find something to fill my attention with, I saw her near the scented candles shelf smelling each of them to take her pick. I was encouraged to follow suit. Being the cheap ass I am however, I also looked below the candles to check the price. My heart stopped for a moment. THIS IS LITERALLY MORE THAN I WOULD SPEND ON CHAMPAGNE. What a rip off! Who opens a shop in the mall for general public and sells them a commodity that may hardly last a week or two?

I looked at her. She seemed determined. It amused me. I turned to ask her, "Is it worth it?"
"Yes", she said.
"Have you used any before?" I was intrigued.
"I have actually. These are lovely, and they are on sale." She was reeling me in.
"On sale?", I turned my attention now to the giant board right in front of me that said 60% off, "Oh. Still. Who would spend so much on a candle?"
She shrugged, "I've had 3 of these earlier. I like them."

Not wanting to actually look like a cheap ass, I tried a few more candles but found myself going back to the one that said, 'Bowties & Bourbon'. The fact that it had purple flowers on it just almost sealed the deal. In case you are unaware, I love purple/ violet. If I had my way I would paint the whole world purple. I absolutely adore lavender flavored or scented everything. One of the reasons I like one song is because the singer is wearing a beautiful purple dress. It helps that the song is very well made too, but I digress.

Oh what the hell, I'll just indulge this once. Before I could tell the lady, 'I'm going to trust you this time', which in my head sounded like smooth jazz, she had checked out with her candles. Maybe it's for the best. Nobody is that suave as they think they are.

So here I am listening to Amado Mio by Storm Large, sipping lavender tea in a room lit by 'Bowties & Bourbon'.

Great taste and costly indulgence!
