Mind Chatter: 1: Laziness and Simulations
Lately what has been my mood? It violently swings between the desire to transform into a human sloth and, anxiously pacing in my balcony, overwhelmed by the falling brick load of work. The human mind can be such a diva. You think you want to get something done, but do you right away? Oh no, first you need to create the right physical ambiance, see that the room is clean, the laundry is done, the stomach is fed and even if you manage to get this upper layer of your life together, you now wait for inspiration to strike.
While that happens, your fingers crawl towards your device, effectively derailing the train of thought you were waiting for, to arrive. And now you have no time. Do you think if we had more than 24 hours in a day, we would be more productive? Or would we find more ways to distract ourselves? I suppose, procrastination doesn't care about horology.
What is the evolutionary reason for procrastination to still be a thing? Isn't that extremely detrimental to achieving success at anything? At what point of time, were the humans such meddlesome workaholics that nature thought- Oh, no, let me give them some chill?
I have read that bored minds are often more creative. Why does the universe care if we are creative? Again, it makes zero point zero sense to me. You know what does make sense? If we think that we were created for just somebody's entertainment- like the Sims. Then everything and anything we do, or that happens, can be chalked to an episode of some drawn out saga. What if we are the limits of an artificial intelligence experiment?
Maybe the developers do not want to meet us because it would be too confusing? I cannot imagine disintegrating to meet a piece of code. How would that interaction go?

You know, the more I think about it, the more plausible it seems. Maybe cloud computing would give way to multiverse computing. Do not get me started on quantum computing. No seriously. Because I understand little about it. It sounds very Schrodinger's cat-esque and I will quietly withdraw to look at pointless memes before I pretend I know about that one.
Or cat videos. Definitely cat videos.

who said : Let's just not get into the right physical ambience, not bother about cleaniness, laundry, stomach. I would then find the evolutionary reason of procrastination. Trust me he is the dirtiest person I know and is now working on AI!
