Kafka vs Wonderland
You have this entire world that you have built up in your head. There are houses, cobbled pathways, rainy windows, coffee, cats and relationships. Some people you see everyday. Some of them you forget. You might know them in real life but not as well as you know them in your daydreams. You have recurring conversations, secrets you share and inside jokes. None of which are true.
It would not be too bad if reality didn't keep disappointing us. You have danced on the roads, peered over bridges, walked in parks and petted strays. There is a certain carefreeness in your heart when you are deluded. Lives are hard, restrictive and very very fuzzy. Is it wrong to escape into fantasies? Do you think you are setting yourself up for defeat? Is this making your existence difficult to live with?
But reality and dreams have such contrasts. It breaks your heart a thousand times in the littlest of ways everytime you discover what your hand actually touches is nothing. There is no song playing in the background. There is no one smiling at you. This routine of typing away at your keyboard, waiting for salary day is real life. Your back hurts. Your skin is neglected and dry. You are also thirsty for more than water. It makes you wonder where your home is. Where would you like it to be?
You could question your sanity; and then decide that you are much too young for that shit. Afterall, Alice was in wonderland. Trim your nails, they are digging into your flesh in resentment. Coffee helps a little. Alcohol helps a little more. Shopping is very helpful. Buy that cake!
